Spanish Powers of Attorney
One of the most common types of documents I am asked to notarise are Powers of Attorney for use in Spain. These are often linked to property sales or purchases, litigation, deceased estates and other matters.
These type of documents are known as Public Form notarial acts, meaning that there is a greater expectation on the part of the Notary to verify all of the information within the document as it becomes a matter of public record in Spain.
It is always a good idea to email a copy of this document to me with your Spanish lawyer's contact details in advance of any meeting so I can check if any amendments are required and confirm the requirments of your Spanish lawyer.
